Terms of use

These terms explain how you can buy and use Flashcards Arabia (flashcardsarabia.com), which is operated by Softest, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Softest. “You” means the adult who creates an account or buys a set.

By creating an account or completing a purchase you agree to these terms, our privacy policy and our refund policy. You must be 18 or over to create an account or buy.

Flashcards Arabia sells digital flashcard sets for young children. Each set is played online in our flashcard player, in a web browser, and includes every card in five languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, French and Mandarin Chinese. Nothing is posted to you and there is nothing to download.

Tap-to-hear audio plays a recorded voice for every card word. Family names you add are read by the speech voices built into your device, so whether they can be heard depends on your device. The player needs an internet connection.

Every set page has a free preview of the first few cards, so you can see exactly what you’re buying.

You can sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, with a password, or with another sign-in method we offer. If you check out as a guest, we create an account for the email address you give at checkout, and your sets are added to it.

• Keep access to your email account secure — anyone who can read your email can sign in.
• Give us an email address you can receive messages at, and keep it up to date.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

You can delete your account at any time from Orders & account. See Closing your account for what happens next.

Prices are shown in UAE dirhams (AED), including 5% VAT. The price you pay is the total shown in your cart and on the Stripe checkout page before you confirm.

Bundle discount. When one order contains more than one set, the whole order is discounted by the number of different sets in it:

• 2 sets: 5% off
• 3 sets: 10% off
• 4 or more sets: 25% off

The discount applies per order. It isn’t added up across separate orders or applied to past orders, and sets you already own are left out of the order (and the count) when you’re signed in.

Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t receive or store your full card details. Your contract with us is formed when your payment is confirmed; we then email an order confirmation and your sets appear in your library.

Mistakes. If we ever show a clearly wrong price, we’ll contact you before giving access and offer you the choice of paying the correct price or a full refund.

When you buy a set, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your household’s own, non-commercial use. In practice:

• You and the people you live with can use your sets on any of your devices by signing in.
• Please don’t share your account with people outside your household.
• Don’t copy, record, download, resell, publish or redistribute the cards, pictures, words or audio, and don’t use them for paid teaching or in a nursery or school without our written permission.

We (and our licensors) keep all rights in flashcardsarabia.com, the sets and the player. The licence doesn’t give you ownership of any content.

Sets you buy stay in your library for as long as your account is open. There’s no subscription and no expiry date. Access to a set ends early only if it is refunded, if your account is closed (see Closing your account), or if we stop offering the service.

If we ever stop offering the service, we’ll email you at least 30 days beforehand and send you a PDF copy of each set you’ve bought, with every card’s picture and word in all five languages (family cards show their illustrations). The PDF replaces online access: you can save and print it for your household’s own use under the licence above, and features that need the website, such as audio, progress and your family profile, end.

Family sets let you add photos and names of family members to personalise cards. When you add them, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, and that you have the permission of any adult pictured.

You keep all rights in your photos. You allow us to store them and show them to you, only to personalise your own cards, until you delete them. We never publish them or use them for anything else — see our privacy policy.

Please don’t upload anything unlawful, offensive, or that isn’t yours to share.

If you’re not happy, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying. The details are in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under UAE consumer protection law.

Please don’t:

• try to get around sign-in, purchase or access checks, or access another person’s account;
• copy, scrape or extract content using automated tools;
• interfere with, overload or attack the service, or try to reverse engineer it;
• use the service for anything unlawful.

We work hard to keep flashcardsarabia.com running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features over time; we won’t remove the cards from a set you’ve bought without a good reason, such as correcting a mistake.

The service is designed for adults to use with children. Children shouldn’t create accounts or make purchases.

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t be limited under UAE law.

Otherwise, we aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for problems caused by your device, browser or internet connection. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You can delete your account at any time. When you do, you lose access to your sets, and we delete your family photos and names, learning progress and sign-in details as described in our privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Unless the law or the situation prevents it, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for important changes, email you before they take effect. The terms that applied when you bought a set continue to apply to that purchase.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most problems can be sorted out quickly.

If we can’t resolve a dispute together, it will be handled by the courts of Dubai. This doesn’t affect any right you have to contact a consumer protection authority.
